Vlinder is born and raised with us.
Vlinder is from the litter of Lemon and Uki and has had struggles from birth. Because she is not developed like a healthy Siberian should develop, she stays with us. All information about the first months can be found at previous litters, litter Lemon 05-02-2017.
Vlinder has had bad luck in the composition of her DNA and other things. We know from X-rays that she has a double S in her spine at the height of her shoulder blades. This is reflected in her growth and development and her way of moving. In addition, she regularly chokes while eating (once a day). She has her own way of solving that flawlessly, very special. We do not know if anything else went wrong with the development from embryo to kitten. That's why she stays with us. We also had no idea if she would live long because of all the uncertainties.
Update July 18, 2018 she is almost 1.5 years old, she is still growing little by little and is now over 2.5 kilos. Sometimes she gets medication to help her feels better, or antibiotics when she realy chokes and get some fluid in her lungs.
She is a sweet, gentle cat, who does not argue, is curious about the kittens of other cats, does not turn down a portion of meat or mousse, but also eats her kibble. As long as it is fun for Vlinder, she has a worthy life, we enjoy her every day. Should the tide turn, and it becomes difficult or uncomfortable for Vlinder, then it is our heavy task to let her go and say goodbye to her. But that time hasn't come yet, so until then: we just enjoy her and be amazed at how well our special girl is doing.
